The Orgo winery is located in Telavi, in the heart of the Kakheti district, Georgia’s warmest winemaking region. The vines are planted on both banks of the wide valley of the Alazani River on its eastwards flow towards the Caspian Sea (via Azerbaijan). It is bordered to the north by the magnificent Caucasian mountains — these provide a weather block as well as plentiful water all year round.
The 2021 Rkatsiteli, named after its sole grape variety, is fermented and then aged in Qvevri for approximately 6 months, employing skin contact for the entire period of Qvevri aging. The wine is fresh and elegant, with characteristic honeyed stonefruit flavours — think nectarine, white peach, and touches of blossom — with a crisp finish. Pair with meats and cheeses on a warm evening.
