A long family history since before the first world war for this winery, located in the esteemed Friuli Colli Orientali region of northern Italy. This is an area known for producing wines with great elegance and finesse due to the cool climate.
The Perusini family have always championed the traditional varietals of the area and are credited with keeping the Picolit grape from extinction. Other interesting grapes in their vineyards include Ribolla Gialla and Refosco dal Peduncolo Rosso.
For this Cabernet Franc wine, fruit is sourced from loam soils on the site of Mount S.Biagio in the hills of Gramogliano on South/West facing Terraces.
Deep purple with a violet rim in the glass. The nose delivers up complex herbaceous aromas of eucalyptus, spicy black pepper, and a developing animal character.
Medium+ bodied, with an elegant black fruit quality, balsamic and vegetal hints. The acid and tannins are well structured and give the wine a peppery but rounded taste.
