Joan d’Anguera, a winery run by two brothers, Josep and Joan d’Anguera take the road less traveled in terms of how they approach their winemaking. Monsant a neighbouring DO to Priorat is known for it's powerful take on Garnacha (Grenache), but Joan d’Anguera decided to focus on a lighter more delicate expression of the grape, with drinkability at the core.

They are certified organic and biodynamic in terms of farming methods. Whole clusters are gently foot crushed before a light maceration for two weeks in concrete, and then the wine is raised in neutral oak barrels for up to 17 months in order to focus on a purity of varietal expression. Sulphur usage is at an absolute minimum, only to sterilise barrels.

A fresh, delicate nose of ripe redcurrants, anise and cherry kirsch. Delicate on the palette with lively fruit and floral notes held by a bright acidity. A pleasant round finish on this very balanced and elegant wine.
