Since its inception, 2019 showcases the very elements that are inherent to the greatness of the Napa Valley. This wine combines the flesh, concentration, and balance of impeccably ripe fruit with a depth and sophistication arising only from exceptional context.
As with the 2018 season, this year benefitted from the absence of intense heatwaves, but 2019 drew unequivocal flamboyance from the abundance of winter rainfall and the perfect timing of late spring showers. A warmer August then beautifully accentuated the expression of the terroir, offering a magnificently ample wine, with an exquisitely refined touch of tannins. The 2019 growing season has also revealed the effects of the viticultural evolution at Eisele Vineyard, focusing on a meticulous approach to pruning, soil management and cultivation, rejuvenating the venerable plants of the estate. Thus, it is the first vintage under our stewardship to fully include the formerly designated “Gold Block,” adjacent to the old olive orchard, from which the Cabernet Sauvignon originated exclusively in 1971. Reconnecting with this historic source confers a sense of completeness to this quintessential Eisele Vineyard vintage.

Quick note on Fine Wine purchasing.
When ordering that special bottle of wine it is worth doing a little research before making a purchase. Wine is a living product, which goes through changes and stages of development in the bottle, as well as varying between vintages. If you are considering ordering an older vintage we recommend speaking to a member of staff or using a review site like cellartracker.com to try and get as full a picture as possible of the flavour profile and development of the bottle you are considering.
