Il Cascinone is located in the prime area of the Monferrato hills in Piemonte. It was acquired by leading Piemonte producer Araldica in 1999, and since then the estate has undergone a programme of restoration and replanting of vines.
The Crocera bottling is sourced from 6 ha of vines on south east and west facing slopes of the estate.
Grape harvesting is by hand.
Aged for 12 months in French oak barriques, of which 10-15% is new oak.
Aromas of ripe black cherry, toasty spice and savoury herbs. A rich palate with plum and sour cherry fruit, juicy acidity, and notes of dark chocolate on the finish.
This is a fresh juicy red from young vines with an intense ripe fruit character.
