Amaro Montenegro Liquore, Emilia-Romagna

Created in 1885 and named for Princess Elena of Montenegro, this liquore is created using 40 different botanicals. After being boiled and macerated for up to 30 days, these 40 botanicals are distilled into 12 essential extracts which are then blended into 6 aromatic notes. Finally these 6 notes are combined according to the original recipe before a single drop of Il Premio is added, an intensely strong 7th and final tasting note distilled from 5 botanicals. 

Typically drunk as an after dinner digestive this bitter-sweet liquore combines aromas and flavours of herbs, dried citrus peel, flowers and roots.
