The Ronco del Gnemiz winery situated in a beautiful setting near Udine has been owned by the Palazzola family since 1964. The vineyards are based on Friuli’s prized sandstone soil ‘Ponca’ which comprises many layers of soil built up over millions of years making it rich in minerals and microelements which give the wine a highly distinctive character. Serena Palazzola and her team are not into fashionable wines, instead they've been uncompromisingly improving their wines for years making them one of best producers in the north east now for quite some time.
This single varietal Chardonnay perfectly embodies the style of the house and its terroir; the grapes come from a small parcel in the Manzano vineyard and show a lively but deep bouquet of fine straw and smoky notes exotic fruits with a delicate creamy vein. Medium bodied but elegant and harmonious on the palate with a pleasantly citrusy and mineral finish
