Paolo Caciorgna is a renowned winemaker who has been consultant to many estates across Italy. He is also the name behind the 'Pietro Caciorgna' label, so named in dedication to his father.

Only 2Ha of ungrafted vines in a prime Etna location make up this estate which farms organically.

The Ciauriabottling is 100% Nerello Mascalese from 70-110 year old vines (pre-phyoxera) in the most prestigious area of the Etna DOC at altitudes of approximately 2000m above sea level. Volcanic soils from Etna impart a special minerality and verve to the wine.

The wine is fermented in stainless steel spends six months in French oak, with six months of ageing in the bottle prior to release.

Fresh, aromatic nose in the glass of cherry, blueberry with spice and dried herbs. Dry profile, bright acidity, and a pleasing rusticity to the complex flavours and mouthfeel. Very good quality example of terroir driven Sicilian red.
