Luis has been crafting Riberio wines since 1988, championing native grapes to produce distinctive age-worthy wines. A native of Arnois , he studied enology and philosophy in Madrid, toured Europe's top wine regions, and served as president of the Riberio DO.

Working from his family adega, Vine de Martin, Luis manages just under 6 hectares across nearly 200 micro-plots, growing native varieties such as Treixadura, Lado, Ferrol, Caino and Brancello. His careful, Low intervention approach has helped revive Ribeiro's tinto tradition earning acclaim acorss the Iberian Penisula.

This is one of his top whites - Escolma meaning 'selection' in Gallego and is only produced in the best vintages from the lowest yielding vines, planted on steep granite hillsides arounf the town of Arnoia.

Hand-harvested and destemmed, fermentation is spontaneous in 600L used French Oak where it is left to rest on lees for 12months, then aged for a further 36 in bottle.

The intensity of aroma jumps out of the glass, huge concentration of flavour simillar to top Burgundy but with a wildness and salinity not often found in Chardonnay. Really exceptional.
