The ethos at this lovely winery is simple: make wines which are natural expressions of their grape and terroir, and to keep intervention to a minimum. The results are wines which are charismatic and a joy to drink.
Rank & File is 100% Shiraz – so expect bramble, blackcurrant, spice and dark chocolate. These characterise the nose, and the palate is stuffed full of dark, delicious fruit given depth by spice and textured tannins. This is a really serious wine – it will certainly benefit from decanting in its youth to let it open up and show to its best advantage. Anything chargrilled will fit the bill perfectly – barbecued lamb beckons.
