Located in Panzano in Chianti, Tenuta Casenuove covers 105 hectares spread over a succession of hills and valleys.

There are 28 hectares under vine (in organic conversion), the rest of the estate largely laid to forest and olive groves.

Planted high above the Pesa river at altitudes of 370 to 490 metres, in soils rich in the famed local galestro, it is here that winery director Alessandro Fonseca, cellar master Maria Sole Zoli and young winemaker Cosimo Casini are crafting some of the most exciting new wines in Chianti Classico.

Mainly from the “Vignoble Pozzo” plot with a south-southwest  exposure. Warm, well draining soils with a mix of limestone  clays of marine origin, rich in galestro schist, with Macigno del  Chianti sandstone.

Hand harvested. Tripartite manual selection process.  Controlled-temperature fermentation in raw concrete tanks.  Maceration for up to a month, with pump-overs and racking. Aged for 12 months in a mix of large Slavonian oak casks and
barriques, then another 24 months in bottle.

Pure 100% Sangiovese goodness. Sexy and sensual with waves of dark cherry and blueberry, dense sandy tannins and dried meats. Long and luxurious.
