A Left Bank chateau awarded 3ème Cru Classé status in the 1855 Classification. Though often seen as mediocre, failing to meet the standards of that designation. As well as the Grande Vin, there is a second red wine - Les Fiefs de Lagrange - and since 1997 white wine called Les Arums de Lagrange.

Purchased by the Japanese liquor company Suntory Group in 1983 who embarked upon improvements to the property over the 80s, 90s and 2000s. This led to a huge shift in quality and now Lagrange is considered one of the great Bordeaux chateau reaching its true potential.

The vineyard is a vast uninterrupted area of 110Ha, one of the largest in Bordeaux.

The grape blend for the 2005 consists of 46% Cabernet Sauvignon, 45% Merlot and 09% Petit Verdot.

The 2003 is considered an excellent vintage with to warm weather conditions. The wine possesses a dense structure with powerful but velvety tannins, a rich substance, a balanced wine that combines power and finesse.

On the nose sweet, toasty, oaky notes interwoven with hints of black olives, blackberries, cassis, and spice box. The palette is rich, with impressive concentration and purity. Tannic, full-bodied a wine with long-term ageing potential.

Drink now or hold further.
