Justifiably considered amongst the foremost growers in the village of Chassagne-Montrachet, Jean-Marc Pillot has been in charge of this family domaine since the early 90s and represents the fourth generation, taking over from his father Jean. Jean-Marc has made a number of changes at the estate, most significantly the construction of a new cave. The domaine is dominated by its production of white wines but there are important cuvées of red wine produced here as well.
Farming is sustainable with only organic fertilizers used and ploughing between vines to encourage deep root growth. Careful vine management of vines ensures the best fruit.
Expressive and powerful nose of grapefruit and lemon, matchstick. Weight and acidity on a creamy palette are finely balanced, with a velvety textural quality to the long finish. Excellent Chassagne from one of the best producers in this village.
