Third generation family domaine - founded by Henri, succeeded by son Paul, and now Marie Jacqueson (and more recently, her son Pierre) at the helm. 13Ha of vines mostly in the appellation of Rully, Cote Chalonnaise.
Jacqueson use no herbicides and follow a strictly sustainable lutte raisonnée regime with minimal use of any chemical products. Fruit is harvested by hand, with an élevage in barrel (up to 20% new wood for whites) for 12 months.
Their Aligoté vines were planted in 1950 and are a standout example of this under-appreciated varietal.
Lots of crisp apple on the nose with acacia, pear and lemon blossom. A period of time on the lees gives this wine a richness on the palette. Very enjoyable and approachable straight away.
