Pierrick Laroche got his degree in enology at Beaune, and then took an internship at Villa Maria in New Zealand. On completion he returned home to start life as a grower in Chablis at the family domaine. He made his first commercial vintage in 2010 which earned him a top billing of three stars in France’s wine magazine the Guide Hachette.
Pierrick's focus from the beginning was upon sustainable methods. Upon taking control he discontinued his father’s practice of using herbicides, reduced applications of fungicide to a minimum and began plowing his vineyards. A new cellar was built into the side of a hill to allow simple gravity-based operations for pressing of fruit.
The domaine has nearly thirty acres planted in the Chablisclassification, all of it planted in the Maligny commune except for 2.5 acres in the little valley of Fontenay heading toward the Grand Crus. He has eight parcels ranked Chablis, and the average age of the vines is 30 years. Soils are of limestone & clay.
The wine possesses a clean core with sleek fruit dominating proceedings. There is a good peppy acidity too which carries nicely the full and supple fruit. Its a pure, mineral-driven Chablis and Pierrick is regarded as one of the new generation of winemakers to watch in the appellation.

Quick note on Fine Wine purchasing.
When ordering that special bottle of wine it is worth doing a little research before making a purchase. Wine is a living product, which goes through changes and stages of development in the bottle, as well as varying between vintages. If you are considering ordering an older vintage we recommend speaking to a member of staff or using a review site like cellartracker.com to try and get as full a picture as possible of the flavour profile and development of the bottle you are considering.
