Tomaso Gianolio Barbera d'Alba Superiore, Piedmont 2015

Founded in 1930 this third-generation family producer is now managed by brothers Davide and Igor.

12 months of ageing in large Slavonian oak barrels.

The nose offers up blackberry and licorice aromas and a hint of lush black cherry. Tart cherry fruit, lifted floral and dried herb notes are supported by bright acidity and elegant tannins on the palette. The wine is framed by characteristic acidity from the Barbera grape.

Pair with grilled steak, tomato based pasta dishes, hard full flavoured cheeses.
