Adega Cooperativa de Borba Convento da Vila, Alentejo 2017

The Adebate de Borba cooperative was founded in 1955 and was the first in a a series of publicly funded organisations that helped to promote the Alentejo region in south east Portugal. If it were not for this organisations promotion, the Alentejo region and its viticulture may have disappeared forever. However thanks thanks to prudent investment from cooperations such as the Adega de Borba in the region’s viticulture and winemaking, the Alentejo is now known as a great source of quality value for money wines.

The wine itself is a Portuguese blend of Tricadeira, Aragonez, Castelao and Touriga Franca sourced exclusively from the vineyards of Borja. The bouquet offers aromas of red fruits and herbs which is balanced by a palate of juicy strawberry. Each variety offers its own characteristics to the blend which is balanced by a smooth tannin structure.
