If the 'Coche' name seems familiar, then yes there is a family connection to the famed Domaine Coche-Dury. Domaine Fabien Coche was formerly known as Domaine Coche-Bizouard another branch of the Coche family. Fabien took over this family domaine from his father in 2005 and renamed the estate Domaine Fabien Coche. Fabien’s cousin Raphael runs the legendary Coche Dury today.
The Domaine currently comprises 25 acres in and around the village of Meursault.
Despite the humble 'Bourgogne' appellation designation on the bottle label this wine is composed of 100% Meursault fruit sourced from 7 different estate owned plots within the village.
Fruit is hand harvested, and undergoes whole bunch pressing. It receives 10% new French oak for 12 months on the lees followed by 6 months in stainless steel before bottling.
This bottle delivers great value, showing a lot of minerality, vibrant citrus and tense acidity with a hint of oak. Perfect for drinking now.
