The domaine was founded in 2005 by brothers, Marc and Alex Bachelet. After a number of years gaining winemaking experience at home and abroad, they struck out on their own in Burgundy aided by their family – grandfather, Bernard had established Domaine Bernard Bachelet et Fils in Chassagne-Montrachet and their father was winemaker here also. Since their first vintage the ascent to prominence has been swift.
They farm over 20Ha on a combination of family and leased plots in Maranges, Santenay, Chassagne and Puligny-Montrachet.
Work in the vineyards is characterised by a respect for the environment - no herbicides are used, favouring regular ploughing instead.
